Members of Whatcom Therapy Dogs are able to take advantage of the visits we organize for our member therapy dog teams with organizations such as Western Washington University and do work in literacy programs, healthcare, and campus visits during finals week. We also act as a network for handlers of registered therapy dogs in Whatcom County to share stories, tips, and opportunities. Please contact us if you are interested in joining.

In order to become a member of WTD, you must be a registered canine team with a therapy dog organization such as Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs Inc., Therapy Dogs International, Reading With Rover or Love On A Leash. Proof of registration is required to join. Insurance for visits organized by WTD will be covered by your registering therapy dog organization. As a WTD member, you are responsible for maintaining current registration. While conducting visits thru WTD, your dog must wear a vest or bandana representing your registering organization. WTD also has quarterly business meetings, and attendance is highly recommended.
